Tariq J. Khan, MD, FACG

Dr. Tariq J.
Khan, Medical Director of the Center of Surgical Excellence, has more
than two decades of specialized experience in gastroenterology
including treatment of stomach and liver diseases, gastroesophageal
reflux disease (GERD), rectal bleeding, constipation and colon
cancer. He utilizes the latest minimally and non-invasive modalities
including endoscopy, colonoscopy, and endoscopy ultrasound to assess
and treat GI disorders. His other GI modalities include infra red
laser therapy for bleeding hemorrhoids and capsule endoscopy for
small bowel disease.
As a published
author, a noted researcher, and a leader in Gastroenterology
education for the medical community and the public, Dr. T.J. Khan
considers patient education one of his most important tasks.
Dr. Khan is a
Diplomate of the American Board of Gastroenterology, a Fellow of the
American College of Gastroenterology, Fellow of the American College
of Physicians, and past Medical Director of Gastroenterology and
Liver Diseases at Bon Secours Venice Hospital years 2001-2004. He
holds senior leadership positions in the Venice Regional Medical
Center as member of the Critical Care and Quality Improvement
committees. He was also president of the medical staff in Greenville
Hospital in NJ for the year 2000-2001 and held many administrative
positions while working as senior GI consultant in NJ from 1990-2000
at six major hospitals.
He earned his
M.D. at King Edward Medical College and completed his residency at
Jersey City Medical Center, New Jersey. He and his brother Jaffer
Khan, MD owned a private GI practice in New Jersey. for 12 years
prior to establishing Gastroenterology Associates of Venice and
Englewood in Venice 2001.
