Scott P. Durrett, M.D.

Dr. Scott Durrett, board certified ophthalmologist,is an expert in providing a comprehensive approach to optimal vision and eye care. His experience includes treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, as well as expertise in emergency and routine eye care, and surgical techniques. Among the latest, advanced eye surgical procedures, Dr. Durrett offers ReZOOM and RESTOR multi-focal lens implants, modalities that significantly reduce the need for distance and reading glasses.

Scott Durrett, M.D. earned a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Cellular Sciences from the University of Florida and his Medical Doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Florida.

During his fellowship, he educated and trained residents in clinical and surgical ophthalmology. He was also responsible for evaluating and treating complicated clinical and surgical cases referred to the Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Durrett is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He and his wife Kelly, a Venice anesthesiologist, and two children, Alyssa and Ryan, reside in Venice.
