Jaffer J. Khan, MD, MACG
Dr. Jaffer J. Khan,
Medical Director of the Center of Surgical Excellence, has more than
twenty years of specialized experience in gastroenterology including
treatment of the stomach, colon, diseases of the esophagus (GERD),
liver disease, anal incontinence, constipation and rectal bleeding.
He’s held
numerous leadership positions at Florida and New Jersey medical
facilities, including Medical Director of Gastroenterology at Bon
Secours-Venice Health Park Surgery Center and Senior Consultant
Gastroenterologist at six hospitals in New Jersey. He is also an
active board member of the American Cancer Society.
He utilizes the latest minimally and
non-invasive modalities including endoscopy, colonoscopy, and
endoscopy ultrasound to assess and treat GI disorders. His other GI
modalities include infra red laser therapy for bleeding hemorrhoids
and capsule endoscopy for small bowel disease.
Dr. Jaffer Khan is a Diplomate of the
American Board of Internal Medicine, Diplomate of the American Board
of Managed Care, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a
member of the Presidential Round Table. He is an active member of
the American Medical Association, American Society of
Gastroenterology Endoscopy, Florida Medical Association, and the
Florida Society of Gastroenterology Endoscopy. He takes special
interest in preventive medicine including colon cancer screening. He
was awarded the “America’s Top Physicians 2003 award”
from the Consumers Research Council of America.
Dr. Jaffer Khan earned his M.D. at
King Edward Medical College and completed his residency and
fellowship in Gastroenterology and liver disease at Jersey City
Medical Center, New Jersey. He and his brother Tariq Khan, MD
relocated from New Jersey where they had a busy practice for 20
years. Presently they are both practicing consultants in
Gastroenterology Associates of Venice and Englewood and Venice
Regional Medical Center, Venice.
